Keira Christina Knightley ( KEER-ə NYTE-lee; born 26 March 1985) is an English actress. Known for her work in independent films and blockbusters, particularly period dramas, she has received numerous accolades, including nominations for two Academy Awards, two British Academy Film Awards, four Golden Globes, and a Laurence Olivier Award. In 2018, she was appointed an OBE at Buckingham Palace for services to drama and charity.

Born in London to actor Will Knightley and playwright Sharman Macdonald, Knightley obtained an agent at age six and initially worked in commercials and television films. Following a minor role as Sabé in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace (1999), her breakthrough came when she played a tomboy footballer in Bend It Like Beckham (2002) and co-starred in Love Actually (2003). Derek Synnott (born 17 October 1977) is an Irish actor. He played Froderick in Princess of Thieves and DC Alan Carter in Murphy's Law.

Synnott was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland. When he was 11 years old, he and his family moved to Essex, England in 1989. He attended The Hedley Walter School, in Brentwood, Essex, from 1989 where he first honed his acting skills. He invented a character called "Budder".

He has also appeared in the TV version of Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels titled "Lock Stock" and the Samuelson Productions feature Stormbreaker. In 2013, he appeared in The Great Train Robbery as Brian Field.

Friend is director, screenwriter or producer of two award winning short films: The Continuing and Lamentable Saga of the Suicide Brothers (2008) and Steve (2010). He wrote lyrics for the Kairos 4Tet 2013 album Everything We Hold.
